I bought this old cymbal a few years ago and I don't know much about it... how it was used... for pedal clanger-thingie maybe?
It's heavy for a 12 inch cymbal... 829 grams.
It's got some nice tone and it's in decent condition I think for a 100 year old cymbal.... 1920s?

The stamp is worn a lot but a good bit of it is still there.
Any information at all would be helpful. I don't know the history of it. I bought it on eBay.

it's
an old K Zildjian Con
doesn't matter the age (to most anyone) just that it pre- 1940 when the more modern (stamped Istanbul) and refined K Zildjian began.
It's a primitive K Zildjian ; possibly from before there was even a glimmer in the eye of a USA Avedis Zildjian (1929.
The "age" pinpointing the "age" is less a detail with these (but some like to )
Makes a good (extremely, unusual, ) deep and dark yet bright) hat bottom to a (any) 12 top; (or on top of a 13..) if you don't have much in it keep it around. It's history of the K. with an ancient sound to match. Could come in handy

It was probably part of a trap set in its early years. Probably find it's best use today as a bottom hat cymbal under a 12" splash. I dont hear of many people in need of drummers playing trap kits now-a-days.

Thanks guys.
I'm keeping it for now but I do have someone interested in it. I like it. I have lots of 2007 and later cymbals that are nice Agop, Zildjian and Paiste but old ones like this have a certain mojo and a different nice effect tone.

I saw a YouTube video yesterday where some like to use these as the bottom of a hihat. The one demoed was a 1917 12 inch much like mine.
I'll try it. I have an Agop 12 Splash for the top.
