I believe this is a 1930’s Ludwig Gold Flash 13”Tom. Let me know if I’m incorrect.

It’s in decent shape. However the original tacked to hoop head is gone, someone put an old lamp socket in it (holes do not go all the way through) and it does have a crack.

I’ve done nothing to it except take the head off to look inside.

Does anything on/in the drum say "Ludwig" or "Ludwig and Ludwig" ?

Those lugs are Leedy. The shape of the base is the same as their badges. Since Conn owned Leedy and also owned Ludwig I have seen those lugs on some early tunable toms in catalogs.


I have some of those lugs that came on a Slingerland 16" tacked bottom floor tom that someone had converted the bottom so they could put regular heads on.

Thanks! I found lots of Leedy pics with theses lugs and t-rods, but only one Ludwig catalog with the lugs. I think you are correct
