I can’t stand to do it, but I need to generate the funds to restore a 1947 Martin I just inherited. So here goes...

13, 16, 26 in good condition. BDP wrap which I don’t see too often.

This is an orphan kit. Modern heads fit well. And with the fiberskyn tops and diplomat bottoms, these have a nice deep tone with the thump you’d expect.

Edges are pretty decent. Might need a little attention with filler and light sanding here and there. Never bothered me and doesn’t effect the sound, in my opinion.

13 and 26 match quite nicely. It took me years to find an affordable matching floor tom. This drum is greened out a bit. But the drums still look great together. I think the floor tom was originally a cradle drum that someone drilled for legs. It came with some old WFL leg mounts that will be included.

I gave all the hardware a good Dawn soak a few years ago. Didn’t go so far as to polish.

Most of the tuning rods on the 13 and 16 are original. I’d say 1/3 the clips I just used clips that work.

I do not have original t-rods or clips for the bass drum. These will ship with some that work.

I think there are a couple extra holes on the 13 where the mount is located. Not sure which are original. One rim is significantly bent. See pics.

Bass drum is drilled for a rail mount. Not sure this is original. One hoop is not original. See pics.

There is, of course, the kinds of scratches and rash you’d expect on a 75 year old set of drums.

All in all, a solid player kit. With a little attention and a small investment on parts, it’s a well sought after kit.

Galaxy bags included for the 3 drums.

$750 plus shipping from NYC. Local pick up is good too.

Feel free to make an offer! I will not be offended.

Please PM.

Thanks for looking. I failed to post this pic of the parts not currently on the kit.

I also have a pile of beaver tail and streamline lugs I’ll throw in. C8D53ECB-C79F-42C5-81D1-52A951C05012.jpeg

Thanks!!

Partial trades?
I need to come away with a chunk of change for other gear expenses. But might be open to partial trade.
Let me know what you have in mind. Please PM

These are beautiful, and the price is right.

I already have the same sizes in 1948 gold glitter. Can't justify a second set with my limited studio space, but if that wasn't the case I'd have a hard time saying no.

Yep.
As Aaron said. Clear African mahogany shells with hard maple re-rings on all drums. Nickel over brass hardware.

Still available.
