I attended the Chicago Drum Show last weekend. The one drum I thought I’d never find was there! A George Way 6.5x14 16 lug snare drum in sparkling blue. These are so rare that I only know of 3 other ones. This one is from approximately 1960.

Is it the blue finish that makes them so rare?
No, it’s the Concert Model 6.5x14 16 lug that is rare. I know of one in England that is blue sparkle and two in the states, a blue sparkle & a red sparkle. I owned a faded gold sparkle one but lost it 3 years ago in a fire.

WAY to go, Space Partner! Beautiful snare with a lot of lugage. That also matches your shirt, perfectly.

That's awesome, Steve! I'm glad you have found a replacement for the lost gold sparkle drum. Congrats!
