Thank you for your reply.Depends on your timeline. $1100 and you'll have cash in a week. Double that (like most seem to attempt) and you may be waiting for quite a while.
Dependent on condition, location and willingness to ship of course.
From the extensive research I’ve done the 9000 series was first produced in 1975 with the single ling lug. These drums were from November 1975. According to the serial numbers and research I’ve done.
Was just about to say the same thing. These are likely from the early eighties. I think the Recording Customs (which were derived from these) came out in 82/83 or thereabouts.
Yes, the Toms are power Toms. If you look at the picture of the badge the last two letters of the model number RF signify that they are Power Toms. The Floor Tom has RC signifying that it is a standard size.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge of Yamaha drums. Would you have an idea of the wood that was used for these drums? I posted a picture of a bearing edge and it appears to be different size plys.Rose colored badges didn't show up until 1981 if that's the (rounded corners) badge you have.
The 1970-'s MIJ drums would have a silver badge and the shield shape with a point at each upper edge. So not a 1975 kit.
RF (recording force) drums didn't appear until 1982. And it's not a 1995 kit because there would be a dash between the letters and numbers....ie LY-abdc. By 1993 the RC's had the YESS mounts so all of them
have the Y in the model number. No Y means pre-1993.
I no longer give appraisals to new arrivals only looking for pricing. It's out there if you look. A 1985 RC kit is pretty "generic" and you can find a dozen or more of comparable kits to price against.

These drums are made of birch plies and are definitely not from the 1970sThank you for sharing your knowledge of Yamaha drums. Would you have an idea of the wood that was used for these drums? I posted a picture of a bearing edge and it appears to be different size plys.
These drums are made of birch plies and are definitely not from the 70’s.
Do you know if these drums are all birch or are they a combination of birch and mahogany?Based on the serial number, the hardware type (both the lugs and the tom mounts) those drums are from November 1985. I own the exact same configuration in the same color from 1986.
