Hattie B's chicken! Or another chicken place. Don't get too brave, they are serious about the heat!

thanks for that, keep m coming. Any venues prefered for music shows on a week day vs weekend? Best bars with music, good drinks?

Also if wife will only put up with 2 drum shops, which 2? will be staying near downtown.

Venues -
3rd and Lindsley
Rudy's Jazz Room
Robert's Western World (on the strip)

Museums -
Johnny Cash (a must)
Studio B tour (but you also have to buy tickets for Country Music Hall of Fame, which was a huge disappointment to me, too many current acts)
Ryman Auditorium Backstage tour

I don't know about any venues because I am too broke after going to all of the wonderful drum shops. If you can only swing going to two of them, then go to Drum Supply House (Andy Foote) and either Forks Drum Closet if you like new stuff, or Nelson's Drum Shop for vintage gear. Nelsons is only about a mile from Drum Supply House and all of these are near downtown. If you happen to be at Drum Supply House near lunch time, there is good Tex-Mex next door to Andy and a very good Middle Eastern restaurant across the street. Happy hunting!

Go see Kelly's Heroes on Lower Broadway at Robert's Western World. They play like Thurs-Saturday. (Use Uber when going to Lower Broadway because you don't wanna park down there. Some hotels have a shuttle that runs back and forth for a cheap price, so check there first.) I can't really recommend anywhere else on Lower Broadway besides Robert's because all of the venues are just cover bands playing rock songs.

For new drums, go to Forks.
For old drums, go to Nelson.
Country Music Hall of Fame is a lot of fun.
Go to the Texas Troubadour and see who's playing. They have great bands there at the Midnight Jamboree on Saturday nights.

I saw quite a few great shows at the Bluebird café. It's a very intimate setting and there's always great music, usually singer songwriter/unplugged stuff. I recall being a bit shocked when I found The Blue Bird was in a small strip mall right next to a dry cleaner. :icon_e_smile:

Music is everywhere, most places just open the front windows to the bar.
Ryman and the grand oprey are musts.
We went to so many places, I can't remember them all.

Country Music Hall of Fame - at least 10 times better than the Rock and Roll Hall, and I'm not a country music fan
Studio B tour is awesome!
The Ryman offers a tour as well

Edley's BBQ blows away Peg Leg Porker- best ribs I have ever had....anywhere.

Broadway is insanity but definitely worth checking out. The cacophony of sound is like nowhere else I have been to.

Nelson's Drum Shop
Fork's Drum
