20'' ludwig bass drum 1960's

i bought this drum last week ... the inside was painted black
took me the better part of 2 days to strip it
the hoops were painted black too ... after i stripped it i treated the inside of the shell and the hoops withh 100% pure tung oil
the drum had no legs or mounts for the legs ... i used inde br3 for legs
i just finished putting it back together

Nice job! This is a late 50's drum though. That WFL DRUMS badge was used from around 1955-1958. (the transition badge followed in 1958 but don't know exactly when the start was.

Great job stripping that drum...I had the same with a '67 Ludwig 20" bass drum; it was also painted black....must have be the fashionable thing to do back in the day....

no it's a ludwig .... it's missing the keystone badge , i placed the wfl badge on it .... but good eye

well that drum didn't last long .... i was at our , grumpy old drummers , lunch yesterday
and i was showing pictures of it to some of they guys in the club .... one of the guys said , how much ? i'll buy it
we agreed on a price , and it was gone that afternoon ....
