Hi All,

I'm really loving the new/old snare drum I made from that old shell I bought on fleabay. It's a great sounding snare drum to my ears, but you be the judge. I made a video my self practicing with a focus on the snare drum. The drums are my Camco's. 13", 15", 16", 20". Man I hope that little microphone in my digital camera did the drums justice.

I hear a 'woody' note from this metal shell. Listen carefully and tell me if you hear it too. I was getting warmed up so please excuse any warts or repetition on my part. Enjoy, tell me what you think of the drum.

John

PS - Finally got the file uploaded and working!

Hey John,a better mic would have helped but I get the vibe. Nice work.

I have a good mic, in fact several of them. I need a reducer so I can plug it into my camera, don't have one. I used the built-in mic on my Canon DV cam. It is what it is. Sorry for poor sound quality. I'll try to use my own mics next time.

Nice drum John :occasion5: Looks good & minus the vid camera mic the drums sounds like a winner! It's hard to find a good video camera w/a good quality built in mic. The Zoom Q3 works well. I have one of those Kodak flip camera deals that pretty much sucks  Wish I had that $150 back...LOL!

Thanks but I was just warming my hands up, what I wanted you to hear was the new snare. I'm sorry that the built-in mics on DVD recorders is so muddy. That snare drum is clean, crisp and very responsive. It turned out to be a great snare and a keeper for me.

'Old slingy eh?' lol Yeah, man my hands are getting old! I've lost some of my hand speed and control only the last few years. I make sure to sit and play everyday so I can keep what I have left. But I'll tell you what, when I wore a younger man's clothes, I could have done some serious head-cutting up in here! <grin>
