60's 70's Yamaha Snares

I saw on FB a guy selling an older 60s Yamaha snare in BOP. I think these came with diecast hoops...and this doesn't have them.

I was curious what the value might be...I will probably flip it (I just sold a BOP W/A kit...would have looked nice with it)....and what to look for...

Years ago I saw one for silly cheap money and didn't buy it...even if I don't keep it they look cool.

Yeas. And especially the flip strainer looks very neat for its age especially.

They used several different throw-offs over the years. I own a wood snare in Brown Willow with a P-83 type throw and an adjustable butt. I also have a couple of steel shell models, one with the flip type throw and one with a different lever type throw.

The wood shell snare shells are supposed to be either all birch or some mix of birch and some other woods. They did come with triple flanged hoops. The wrap on the drum you are looking at is most likely Black Willow.

All the Yamaha drums of that era are very well built and look and sound great.
