70’s Slingerland Stageband kit

I picked these up from a friend of mine a couple weeks ago dirty, missing reso rims and pretty neglected.

I disassembled them and cleaned the shells with simply green then polished the wrap. The interiors were waxed with a wood paste wax and all hardware polished up beautifully.

The hoops and rims are replacements from Drum Factory Direct.

The original plan was to flip them, but I think I put much money into them. Sometimes I just can’t help myself.

That is a nice looking kit. Classy, and probably sounds better than kits at much higher prices.

how do they sound ? also what's heads do you have on them? Lovely looking kit.

Right now they just have Coated DFD heads on them….. I was originally going to flip them. The sound is warm and focused. They seem to react best to medium to medium high tuning.
