A&F at GC - update

So I popped into GC on Sunday. I saw the same gorgeous 13/16/22 A&F kit that I posted about a few months back, when it was $4.5K then, now on "clearance" for $3.7K. Apparently, not many fans of A&F at that GC.

Interestingly enough, I told the guy that as boring and generic looking the natural DW collectors 10/12/14/22 kit they had on the floor was, the sound was as expected and blew away the A&F. He said somebody was coming in tomorrow (?)
to buy it ($4.5K) and he just sold a $7K custom finish DW kit the day before that was up on the wall rack. I wish they had A&F snares, but as cool as the kit looked, it sounded thin and just did not do it for me...........

This is not a kit you would want to buy off a guitar center floor, people buying this drum set want it brand new built exactly how they’re looking to have it built.

With that being said, if someone took this drum set home and tuned it up with care , the only use for the DW Collector’s kit at that point , would be as a coffee cup holder. :)

A&F drum sets are in an entirely different stratosphere ,, fantastic drums!

I’ve played both brands , no way A&F is in a different stratosphere….

A&F sound great but come on …..

I tried 6 different A&F drumsets at PASIC and I will say that just because they cost a lot, doesn't mean they sound great. That is all I will say.

Nice to know a GC still has multiple top end kits including A&F. My local GC might have one DW Collectors series in a matte natural maple finish. After that, their, they will have Performance, Design series, Yamaha Stage Customs, Gretsch Catalina, Pearl Export.

Both of those kits have been on the floor for a very long time.
$3K plus

Seeing the bigger crowds at PASIC these days looks more like a NAMM show. Don't know how anyone could hear any sort of nuance in anything at those events.
Not to defend A&F but many sets will also sound like ass after 10 hour days of people beating the snot out of them.

Ya , these pics are pretty obvious why that would be. Although I LOVE your pics!

Also , if we were pricing these based on “sound” , these would be under priced.

I guess the best way I could explain this , if no one was there besides you and myself , and we tuned these baby’s up ,, your new name would be - @Gotmoredrums :)
