Thx Tom - I liked the SCDR... I have a Legacy Heavy -21" actually - too icy sounding. I also have a SCDR and it better...

You have a 21" Heavy? Didn't know they made that size. How much does it weighs?

It was a custom order - it weighs 2654g. I haven't heard it in a long time, I should bring it out again...

To my ear, it's bewteen the Sabian and the Bosphorus. I like different elements about them both (I have the 22" Legacy but never played the Bosphorus ) but did not find the 2 Paiste's to my liking at all.

The Legacy is nice indeed. Has a clear ring to it but also some lower tones. Easy crash for the weight.
Should be versatile for different volume settings and styles.

I'd take the Bosphorus first. Your rides are on the very upper limit of weight for my taste (except the SCDR for which that's the norm). I enjoy your videos, Tom. Just keep posting them!

I was convinced that the Legacy was going to win this comparo - until you loaded the Bosphorus. Gracious! That Bosphorus is filled with goodness on all accounts. Just remarkable.

That particular Paiste - nada. Sounds very, very wimpy by comparison on all accounts.

Yeah? That Hammer is the best I have owned. I had two others that were really, really bright and too stiff

I have a gig Sunday. Tenor, piano, bass, drums

I feel like being crazy and playing a different set of cymbals for each set of music.

Out of the cymbals in my latest videos the only ones I have not gigged yet are
Bosphorus Hammer
19" Agop Mel Lewis
22" Legacy Heavy
18" Legacy Crash

I think I will bring them Sunday

Yes. I am bringing the legacies.

Here is a "hotter/louder" video of the Bosphorus Hammer and the Mel Lewis 19"

I am using Regal Tip Jeff Hamilton model sticks

The 22 bosphorus was the winner Sunday.
The legacy was great but ..at least in this room..had no wash or presence...it was all stick out front (had video recorder in audience)
Behind the kit it was great
The Manhattan ride needed some rivets...the room had lots of rugs the walls were bookshelves...lots of books..almost like playing in a library.

My favorites were the 20" Manhattan with 2 rivets on my right and the 18" legacy on my left with a 1 inch piece of gaffers tape underneath

Very jimmy cobb vibe

13" Manhattan hats all night.

I might post some clips
