I searched, but didn't see if there is a way to mute topics? I see the watch, but it would be nice to have a mute too.

Meaning you want them to not show up in the list? That isn't possible AFAIK.

The only thing I've found is to "IGNORE" the individuals that start the types of threads (or post the comments) you are not keen on.
I've done that and most of my time here is pretty much carefree.
There's a few that take pleasure in creating topics that are geared towards conflict.
If you put them on the "IGNORE" list, those topics NEVER appear in your feed.
It's incredibly satisfying.
