A wrench in the Avedis Zildjian stamp timeline?

I didn't want to possibly hijack the other thread, so I moved this to a new thread.

I just picked up this set of 15" Avedis Zildjian hihats. Just curious if this throws a wrench into the stamp timelines.

Here's the 60's stamp on top:

And here's the 1978-1982 ink on the bottom of the same cymbal:

These do show up from time to time. I've got a few myself. I think I recall Steve Black discussing these on his comprehensive Zildjian pages.

Thats the only thing that makes sense to me unless somebody was sneaking that stamp out of the back room.

Nice hi hat here with very clean and bold ink.

Zenstat has stated he's seen the 60's stamp into the mid-70's. And with the hollow logo inking starting around 1977 - that just might overlap. And you have one here for "further out" proof.
Not sure when "rock" hats first came out. But that's a good one for the Zenstat file. A 60's stamp into 1977/1978 depending on who you believe for dating the hollow logo ink. Paul Francis has stated
HL ink began in 1978.

Zenstat has also documented the 1970's stamp being used into the early 1990's. And he calls them all "moving targets" that will change going forward.

According to Zenstat's matrix, Rock Hi-hats were introduced in 1973.

The years of the hollow logo are very questionable. Francis says 1978, however I bought a ROCK 21 with the HL in 1976! I wiped the logo off a few years later. Can't prove it but I know what I bought and when (from Manny's). I still have it and it's a 70's stamp. That's the only Zildjian I bought until the 90's.

Thanks, I actually have 3 singles I collected from people here on DFO. One is 850ish, one is 1011 and one is 1350ish. (Can’t remember the exact weights at the moment.) Lots of great options. The stamps don’t match, but they sound great together.

Few months ago, we discussed a similar thing on a cymbal I bought. Most likely stamped in the 60s, ink stamped in 70s, lathed probably even in the 50s. One point was, that larger cymbals might have lurked around for longer times in stock.

Still a good ride. Looks like new. And I love the fact that it comes from a time when 'heavy' was a weight indicator, because the music style did not exist yet.

Wish I kept the receipts for my new Zildjians in the 1975-1977 period. Recollecting back 45 yrs is not easy.

Bought my New Beats with the straight line inking sometime just before the hollow logo period.
And shortly thereafter, I bought my 16" crash "hollow logo" before heading off to Naval Training Center Orlando, FL in mid-77. Could also have been
just after graduating college in summer 1976. Not really sure. Only know that I bought it before 1978. I bought my white Pearl Exports at that same
time in '76/'77
