I just acquired an Acrolite with an October 13, 1970 date stamp and a B/O badge with s/n 808444. It has a small muffler knob with the screw on the bottom. Doesn't have a nylon washer under the knob, don't think it ever did. I've had many Acrolite drums cross my path but I never saw one with a date stamp (maybe I've lead a sheltered life). Gier's book does corroborate this date range and s/n but it's nice to see a date stamp just the same. Just wanted to report it here for those who collect this sort of minutiae.

It came with all the hardware. Hoops feel very light but they are steel. I plan on cleaning it up and likely keep it in my band rehearsal space.

I also have another Acrolite on my list that is dated the next day (OCT 14 1970) with serial number 808439.

PS: I spend Spring Training in Surprise watching my Royals (which is a little tough right now). There is another forum member in Surprise.

It can't be made the next day, it has a lower serial number

In '71 they had paper labels
Paper labels with date stamps started in about April of 1971. I have several drums recorded with date stamps directly on the shells from January through March of 1971.
