Hi experts ; ]

Please

To your knowledge is there a better replacement butt plate with adjustment to the Gretsch butt plate with the same hole spacing?
l just bought a cool 90's Gretsch snare and the thread just stripped... l worked around it with a tension rod. l'm considering buying a new one but its expensive, that's why l'm asking.
Thanks !

The older ones are notorious for stripping. The newest version I have seems to have held up better.

Thanks man. Maybe l should just buy one and absorb the cost. Although for now l make do with a tension rod instead of the original rod with the knob.... Just doesn't "feel" complete ; ]

I think it’s worth it to upgrade and keep the same look. I’ve done it.

It was a steal so investing a lot extra is making the steal less of a steal ; ]
But... l might go for it

I never owned "that" one but you're going to have to repair Or find a Butt/adjuster/ combo; can't think of another ?one?

there was a 4pt. Adjuster/butt on Microsensitive drums......

I'm in Israel so l'm looking at listings that use ebay's global shipping which still works great. USPS currently is not a real option for shipping outside the US.
Looking at this...the costs add up. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gretsch-G5379-Lightning-Butt-Plate/273835954199?epid=3012044896&hash=item3fc1e51017:g:S6cAAOSwBlVc0QSW

Maybe l should be patient ; ]
Are any local drum stores open where you are? They should be able to order the part for you to save on shipping.

Yes but usually they don't stock various parts... l have an idea to install a strainer with a throwoff as a replacement... like an inde strainer

I'm a Gretsch fanatic ; ]
Maybe that's why l manage to tolerate the torture of the snare wires mechanisms they have.... ; ]

You could install this Gretsch butt and just use the bottom hole...

saves you a little bit on cost and keeps it all Gretsch.
Very cool idea , thank you !
l usually stay away from single point attachments to the shell from past experiences. But might give it a go !

It does it's job well and does not come loose?

I only have two drums that are so equipped and haven't used either all that much but to the extent that I have there haven't been any problems due to that butt.
