They seem to happen when the stock is low. I should have snagged that Liberty kit a while back...

Not an Amazon deal but Musicians Friend has the ProLine snare racks on sale for $49.99 as a Presidents Day doorbuster.

I bought on of those from guitar center at that price 8 months ago. It's a nice rack. Sturdy. A bit small though. I can only fit 8 snares on it.

Yeah I love my snare rack even though it's down to holding 2 heads and 1 brass snare :/

Yeah, I bought one of the snare racks the other day for under $50 with shipping......to my front door. How can you beat that?

For another $50, when they are back in stock, you get the same box set but with a crash cymbal added. Great for rehearsals and quiet quiet gigs.
I preferred the 14 hh, 16 crash, 18 ride box that sells for $300. But again not in stock yet.

My store has been waiting 3 months for our backorder. Supposedly Zildjian will be shipping them again later this month.

That's not really a deal. That's just standard pricing, unless when you posted they were $50 cheaper and someone already snagged them.
It probably wouldn't be a bad idea for us to include the price we saw it at in the DFO post for reference. Those prices can swing back up within a short time.

Ok, everyday pricing on Zildjian Lo Volume cymbal box sets:

(13 or 14 hihats, 16 crash, 18 ride)

13/18=$199.99
13/16/18=$249.99
14/16/18=$299.99

Anything less than this would be a sale price.
I hope Zildjian decides to make a 20 or 22 ride; that would sound even better!

The only issue I see with posting the Amazon deal prices is that it dramatically discounts everyone else's gear who may have paid fair pricing, but didnt get insanely deep/crazy discount pricing. Just because one or two people ere lucky enough to find some crazy 20 minute Amazon deal doesn't mean that everyone purchased at that price and shouldn't mean that everyone's used gear is overpriced. If you post prices, then everyone will reference this thread as the "real" price of gear, when in fact its not. Its just stupid warehouse clearance pricing that Amazon can afford to "take a loss" on.

I think it's a good idea to let all of us know that either Amazon, Musician's Friend, etc. are having blowout sales by posting a link to the item or just mentioning it with a description. Doesn't bother me if you mention the sale/blowout price or not. I can always go to any other website and see what it "normally" sells for when not on sale. Then it's up to the consumer to decide if it's worth buying.

Like Tommy D. says, many of these Amazon/bad person deals are extremely short-lived or very limited quantities and just a select lucky few will get the lower price. But heck, if only a few of us get it it's worth it! (I remember a few years ago I was in the market for a hardshell bass drum case. Thanks to DFO I was able to get one delivered for $49 on a blowout deal. Of course that was an amazing price and nothing ever came close to that.)

It doesn't discount anyone else's kit. It was a blow out sale, a few people got lucky. When they get down to one or two they blow them out it seems. Many stores do the same, and I miss it most times. It's just like anything, if you shop around and don't get in a hurry, deals are out there on all kinds of things, just check the sites regularly.

I recently bought a kit from Amazon after being alerted here about a different kit. The first one I watched for about a week. Each day it would get $70-80 cheaper. Then one morning it had come up about $70. About an hour later I was going to make the purchase and it was gone. Found another but different sizes and color. They had two remaining. I watched it about a week or so and it did the same $70-80 reduction each day. The morning I woke and saw they were down to one, I bought it. Right at about 1/3 regular street price.

I think by posting the link to the deal people will see what the price is at the time of their clicking. If that is a crazy good deal, then they can move on it. If its regular pricing at that time, then its regular pricing and they missed out on the deal. Honestly, its the internet people, cross check the price you see at the link provided with a google shopping search and see if it's a good deal. However, telling people the crazy discount price is only going to make people mad that they missed out on the crazy price. I guess what I'm trying to say is that posting the price does not benefit anyone. If its a deal, the link will take you to it. If you missed the deal, then you move on none the wiser.

This is why I don't like to talk about pricing on the internet. Flash deals come and go and if you were lucky to get the flash deal, that's awesome. But not everyone gets the flash deal and it can lead to frustration for those who paid a fair price, but feel that they got ripped off because someone got a better deal.
