I received the Raven set today (16", 18", and 20" crashes). Raw hammering on top, smooth lathe on the bottom. They came individually wrapped in plastic bags, and were stored inside a free semi-padded Symrna branded cymbal bag. They sound just as I expected: slightly trashy with a fairly quick decay. Perfect for smaller clubs. I'm very impressed with this set, and $139 made it a no-brainer for me.

Amazon actually sent me the the 3-crash set instead of the 1 ride, 2 crash set I'd ordered, but I prefer the all crash set anyway. I saw that the 3-crash Raven set had shot back up to $499 this morning, and now they've disappeared from Amazon altogether.

Shoot. Now I wish I’d grabbed a set.

my order is due 8/1....plenty of time for them to cancel. FWIW...if they deliver the wrong item...you might be able to get a partial discount...I had that happen w/a cymbal that was pictured with rivets but wasn't described w/them and came w/o them.... Also...I found an MD review of the Neo Classics and another line that I didn't see on Amazon...decent review. Good luck all...

I received the Symrna Neo Classics this morning and spent a bit of time playing them. These are really nice sounding cymbals, especially given the $179 price tag. Would I spend the normal MAP price of $727 for the set? No, but for what they are (B20 hand hammered Turkish cymbals), they are a fantastic bargain - easily on par with Amazon's other blowout Turkish cymbal lines, such as Soultone and Anatolian (and occasionally Istanbul Mehmet). I'll be gigging these 2 sets quite a bit.

Weights for the Raven set I received:
16" crash: 860g
18" crash: 1304g
20" crash: 1660g

Weights for the Neo Classic set:
15" HH top: 1004g
15" HH bottom: 1204g
17" crash: 1158g
19" crash: 1532g
21" ride: 2360g

Here are a couple of pics - one pic of the padded bag each set comes with, then the 20" Raven crash (top and bottom), and the Neo Classic 19" crash.

Those look great! And for the price you paid they seem pretty amazing. The last 3 seem to be very similar to Mehmet's traditional series. I don't know about Symrna but alot of the "other brands" Turkish cymbals are made by the big brand Turkish makers so you basically get the same quality cymbal with a different label. Enjoy them!
