I believe they are European beech like Sonor’s. Would love to have a bop kit.
Very interesting hoops/clips. They remind me of the familiar single flange & clip arrangement but the Hollywood snare has the clips set back into the hoop rather than hooked over the top.I have a snare that looks great & has a very 60s sound but is a lot like a classic Italian car, IE not working most of the time.

The first Hollywood Mazzini set I saw was being played by Max Roach in a summer park concert around 1971 in Manhattan. The bass drum had if I remember correctly the console with wheels so the bass drum small tom and what ever else was attached to it could be rolled out onstage.Super rare stuff…….at least in the States…..
I also think that the kit Max Roach was playing had a floor tom with a timpani like pedal so he could change the pitch which he would would do during his solos.Yes,that’s right….there were electronic also…..
