...when the house kit sounded so crisp
and punchy during Soundcheck,
but sounded like a Cardboard Box
DURING THE ACTUAL SHOW.

Yep, we play tonight after being off for a few months (we just do this for fun). Got a few gigs lined up this month and next.

My band the VaVaVoodoos will play
a show with this headlining band
from Detroit.
This coming Saturday June 11th...

...and, I'll finally Finally FINALLY
get to play MY own kit.
No house kit, and no borrowing kits
from other drummers.
That means I'll get to hear/use my
roto-toms for their first time ever.

I literally (*note correct usage) played my first show this year outside a popsicle stand in midtown Toronto this past weekend. We played there last summer as well, and had a bigger turnout this time around with lots of young families. You can't see any of that, as everyone was seated on a patio to the left and on the lawn of the church across the street.

No hi fi recording was attained, but here's some audience cell phone video of a few tunes:

I've got no roto toms, but there's nothing better for my comfort level than playing a show on my own kit. It's not always practical and makes for more work, but still desirable if possible. Hope you enjoy the gig!
