Yep. We play Saturday at an outdoor gig. My son-in-law’s mother owns a couple businesses next to each other (cool kitchen shop and a clothing store) in a revitalized downtown area. People tend to meander in and out of stores on the block so we’re gonna make a little noise for them.

We played outside today. Beautiful weather thigh I wasn’t feeling 100% and it came through in a few places in my playing. Fun time though overall.

Setting up on grass always stinks :( very cool
Pic tho.
A cover band I played with years ago got set up in the flower bed at a ritzy pool party. Looked like rain, rain came and next thing you know the flower bed is full of water. We had to rush all of our equipment out, told them tough mess on us finishing the set after the rain stopped.

That happen to us not long ago it started raining lightly a couple weeks ago. It then started pouring so bad my cymbals didn’t even make sound. We tore down. The owner tried to get us to setup inside and finish the night. I had to explain how once the speaker is wet they have to dry so they don’t flex and tear. They understood we knocked some money down and went home.

Sucked because it was a killer show. We sounded really good the mayor was there etc. crap happens lol

Our last show as a quintet, our main lead singer/secondary guitarist, who we brought on to ease the vocal burden on the original three of us, got too busy with his other projects, but in the meantime we upgraded the keys position to one of the best players in the area. We can all sing pretty well when we select the right material and we are much more nimble and dynamic (and at a much lower overall volume) with only one guitar (Don’t get me wrong, this line-up has been a blast, but I’m looking forward to the new streamlined version now) guitar nerds - check out the vintage Fender Amps, 70s Vibrolux, and ‘68 drip-edge (ie black-panel circuit) Deluxe Reverb (the guy who is staying is the guy with the deluxe -among some other amazing amps- so you can imagine the volume difference going from a 40w 2x10 AND a 22w 1x12 to just the 22w 1x12)
