Another driveway concert for the neighborhood 2.30-5 today ; hot but nice and breezy; really loving the '65 Supra with '66 Ludwig kit...... again, no pay but a great day to play....
Sorry no photos of the concert but did snap these of my setup when I brought the drums home ; matching 1970's (1976?} Ludwig swivel foot hi hat and cymbals stands (2),70's Zildjian New Beats hi hats, newer 19" Zildjian thin crash with 18" Zildjian Avedis ride ; with Gibraltar 1 post accessory mount for cowbell and tambourine clamped on the on the cymbal stand and the old but always reliable Speed King. This setup works for much of the rock/country music and other music I play plus it sets up and tears down quickly.

Thanks, they're calling for rain in TO now, but seems to be later in the day. We bumped our performance up from later in the afternoon, and got a few tents for an ounce of prevention.
Smart thinking...an ounce of prevention...... is worth a pound of cure;)

So after a very long night playing 9-1 a hour and half from home. Our bass player hit a big buck totaled his van and we got a flat on the trailer. Had to sit on the side of the road for a hour in a half for our singer to bring us a lug wrench to get the spare off the trailer. Our other lug wrench wasn’t deep enough. So after getting home at 6 am we had to cancel our day show and now only one show today in a little bit. Stay safe out there watch for deer and have some playing drums hope everyone’s weekend is filled with music.

Played a big band gig this afternoon for a private party ($$ + great fish dinner), another Monday night at the steakhouse (good money), and concert band rehearsal followed by my other big band rehearsal Tuesday night. 60+ rehearsals and gigs in 2021 so far.

How was it?

it was good. Not playing for big money. Looking to help local spots here in town and local folks have a good time. The first set was on the Napa River followed by free dinner (New York Strip or Cioppino) and drinks. This set features the pedal steel player and brushes.

Tip jar filled up by the end of the night. The club asked us back next Friday and all positive feedback from the band the next day. 15 minute drive from the house. Just fine by this old man.
