We’re playing tomorrow night. Some sort of charity gig to collect blankets and such for the homeless. It’s at a church that has a house kit. So I’ll be taking my “just in case” stuff with me.

Last nights gig was fantastic.
Roughly 250 people in a medium/large country music club. Wasn’t able to get any photos of the gig but did snap a couple just after load in. Crowd was into it, lots of audience participation. Even signed a couple of drumsticks for folks between sets, (Lol, when they ask what can ya say?) :)
After the gig was asked to be the artists permanent drummer and agreed to several more gigs in the coming weeks from Nashville to Chicago. Really great night.
OH! And the new Black Beauty!!!
Sitting over it, as with all drums, you get a lot of harsh attack so it’s never the best place to hear the body of a drum.
Even last night I had a ton of bass drum in my wedge so I couldn’t hear the snare at all in my mix.
But second set I played a couple songs that have drum grooves open the song.
During these I could hear the mix that was going through the mains.
It was the best snare sound I have ever heard. It was my own personal ideal snare sound.
I have a new #1. So pleased with it. A good night.

Good review, not. (That didn't sound right. lol)

I hope to have a similar experience this Thanksgiving night as we head to the casino for our show.

I don't have a Black Beauty to admire, however.

My view last night and this morning. There’s nothing more fun than the church timpani gig; no drums to carry and no real pressure. Nobody else understands how timpani parts work, so you can rumble just about anything and the little old ladies gush over it.
