I picked up what I thought were some Leedy Hemberto Morales timbales recently and I have them for sale at Badges Drum Shop. There have been two people message the shop and say these are NOT Morales timbales.

Am I missing something?

The problem is your timbales are missing the badges. Besides the Leedy badges, a Humberto Morales model badge was also attached to the shells. Also the lug plates inside the shells are missing. By the look of the shells is difficult to indentify if they are Leedy timbales.

I'm not sure if these timbales were made by Leedy or Slingerleedy...but Slingerland brass is very soft and dentable...

Slingerland era from my eyes. Leedy or L&L era would have had badges on both drums, fastened with a screw on either side, no grommet. The edges on a HM Leedy were much cleaner and have more of a 45 degree and then round over on the inside, while the Slingerleedys are kind of just folded over to create a round edge. The lugs would have steel reinforcement plates on the inside, and the rims would be steel with the heads tucked directly on the rims with no flesh hoop.
