Are you bands participating in contests held in your city?
If yes, what are you waiting for... don't be shy, get your band
signed up into a contest in your city and get your followers to support you!
It's good clean fun for all the bands, and everyone gets to see
and hear new music in town by upcoming artists.
Let alone the cool prizes you could win... cash, studio time,
a live stream concert, a chance to open for international bands
at an upcoming tour, etc.
Even if your band doesn't win the contest your band will become known!

Some contests involve Voting to get nominated or advanced
to the next stage of the contest towards the big win.
And, in some contest situations involving Votes, contests are limited to
the city or region where they are held - this is to prevent "ballot stuffing".
Forum members here who reside in your region can vote for you,
and the rest of us who are outside of your region can cheer you on.

Share with us what's happening in your region so that we can
support you and cheer you on, in any case.
Ain't no shame in plugging your band for recognition... as a band member
it is your job to get your band's name recognized, and you do your job
by any means necessary. As musicians, that is what we do.
Get yer Buzz On!

I'll start by posting a contest that is happening in my region
in the upstate NY Albany tri-city Capital Region area,
known as Nippertown's March Music Madness.
The contest started a few weeks ago, featuring 32 bands from
my regional area. The contest involves 5 rounds
Each week some bands get voted to advance
into the next round while, others get eliminated for lack of votes...

...This week the contest is now into the "sweet Sixteen" phase
round 3... sixteen bands listed, and my band The VaVaVoodoos
is among the sixteen bands competing for votes to advance
into Round 4 with the remaining number of bands reduced to the "Great Eight".
Round 5 will have the Final Four bands competing for the grand prize.

The links are listed below, one is for for casting votes (limited to voters in my region),
and the other highlights the bands, and explains the Prize details.

my band is now in Round #3 of Nippertown's March Music Madness contest.

Voting...

Round #3 Voting ends tonight at midnight, and the bands who get voted forward
into Round #4 will be announced Wednesday.
And then Round #4 Voting will begin from Wednesday through Saturday at midnight.

...so, for those of you who reside in Albany NY and the Capital region, don't be shy
click the lick and browse the list of bands and give The VaVaVoodoos a vote to
push us into Round #4.
Tonight midnight (NY time) is the deadline to cast your votes! :-D
... We need your vote! THANK YOU!!! :blob8:

The sixteen bands remaining in the contest, and the Prize details...

I’ve been to the International Blues Foundations finals in Memphis twice .
It was a cool experience
That's the way to do it, man! Keep getting involved in those events,
work the crowd, and get your band's buzz rolling!

My old band did this -- we won our region for the "Zippo Hot Tour" contest back in 2004, ended up runner-up in the national competition (and got a nice Tama snare and Fender amp as prizes), and then were a finalist for the UK V Fest competition -- got two national TV performances out of that one.

Well, my band didn't make it into Round #4 of the Nippertown March Music Madness contest.
It was a fun contest, nonetheless; and it got our band name out to more of the masses.
I send out good luck vibes to the remaining bands in the contest.

I don't mind my band participating in a contest now-n-then, as long as it's good clean fun
and we get to know and meet other bands along the way...
...we gotta stay busy any way possible. Contests feel kind of distracting, and I'd rather stay
focused on our band goals to play music for the audience and make a name for ourselves.

We have a show this Friday evening in Albany NY.

And, we're working on some new songs to go into our upcoming 3rd CD album
which we plan to record this summer back at Don Fury Studios in Troy NY.
