When I was having bass problems you guys put me on to Colin Bailey. Who would be helpful to look at for hi hat. Now I dont mean Buddy or Joe Morello jazz tricks. I'm talking about incorporating it into beats and a few other tips for rock, country, blues. I can make it bark a little but I'm pretty limited in how I use it. Thanks

Listen to Papa Jo Jones (he invented the hihat), Roy Haynes and Jack DeJohnette in Jazz. David Garbaldi and Steve Gadd for funk jazz. Neil Peart, Ringo Starr and John Bonham in rock. Haracio Hernandez in Latin styles. These players all use the hihat in interesting and innovative ways.
