Looking for thoughts or suggestions on a bass drum hoop mounted cymbal arm with a height of 24 inches from the hoop clamp. I'm specifically going for the look of the cymbal being mounted this way.
Currently the only product I can find that is even close is the Pearl CHB75CA. but it is only about 18 inches at max height: https://pearldrum.com/products/hardware/boom-cymbal-holders/chb75ca
I actually have one of these and used the clamp and L rod, then added a Tama MC5 clamp: https://www.tama.com/usa/products/detail/compact_clamp.html
And finally a Tama short MCB30EN boom arm: https://www.tama.com/usa/products/detail/boom_arm_ratchet_arm.html
This gives me the height I need, but every time I hit the bass drum, the cymbal (a new 8" Zildjian A Custom Splash) hits against the cymbal stand shaft and makes a distinct noise that I don't want to hear. The boom arm is new and is using Tamas latest reversible cymbal bottom with a Quick-Set Cymbal Mate on top.
Any ideas to reduce the vibration going through this?
