Hello DFO friends,
This post is a friendly reminder and request to keep in mind the forum rules regarding not just politics and religion, but also profanity and inappropriate content.

We have young members here (not sure the youngest now, but in the past it has been as young as 12) and we need to remember that when posting. Lately the mod team has had to remove or hide posts with sexual content, innuendo, racist language, and profanity either typed by forum members or included in photos or other media.

Let this be your notice that beginning now, not only will these posts be removed, but warning points will be issued if you post inappropriate content. If we see a pattern develop and a member accumulates multiple warnings, further action may be taken.

Thank you.

Just to clarify,

The use of asterisks or other replacement characters does not make foul language acceptable.

Additionally, some people had to be issued warning points today not just for language but for racist remarks. If you feel the need to express racial prejudices, I personally would go as far as to invite you to withdraw your membership at DFO. Thank you.

Posting again here as a reminder:
This is a family friendly forum with young readers. No profanity is allowed including replacement characters or abbreviations.
Repeated disregard for this or any rule will carry consequences potentially including suspension or banning.

Please note that none of us mods wants to spend our time on the forum editing and deleting posts due to potty mouths. We volunteer our time and we are here because we want to be here. If you want to be here too, abide by the rules.

Had a request for the following clarification:

The note about replacement characters is meant to discourage things like intentional misspellings or nonsense characters but it has been applied to abbreviations using just capital letters for the intended word(s). Based on the reports and requests from our members, the best advice I would give is to avoid things that suggest profanity so that we don’t have to worry about gray areas and nobody decides to pick a fight over such a thing.
