Hello all.

Where do you source your lugs, hoops, throws, and heads from?

I am dying to get the price down a bit on some of the stuff I'm building.

The margins just aren't much once you put the price tag on it.

Any sites or insider knowledge is welcome.

Many thanks!

Same here, but be careful with their DFD brand, I think a lot of it is chinese knock-off stuff - which is ok if it works for you.
I have had zero problems with any of the products I've gotten from DFD, and most of it has been their brand. @drumco1547 I can highly recommend them from experience.

you can buy directly from Worldmax at wholesale if you're a dealer or building drums for re-sale...you need to supply them with a business license which would then allow you to buy wholesale from them...it is the "chinese knock-off stuff", but I have had very few, if any real issues with them...they're nice people there too

For my most recent build, I’ve gotten the bulk of my parts from DrumsOnSale...their prices are great and the service has been quick and personal. I’d say 90% of the time, I’ve found it at a lower price here.

Drum Factory Direct for generic or no brand stuff, DrumsOnSale for genuine parts.

Depends. Most stuff from DFD if you want new. I bought their 14-inch stick saver hoops and they were heavy, Chrome and gorgeous. I actually tarnished them to match a vintage Ludwig solid snare w/nickel hardware and felt bad about doing it! I've never experienced cheaper quality House brand items with them.

As with all things, shop around. There's a lot of good music stores online as well as eBay & Reverb depending on what specifically you need and especially if you're looking for a vintage build out. Depends on your project too......
