Guess I should post these before they sell while I can still be "in the club"!! 14/18 24" late 70's smoke vistas. 13 is hiding in a case in the background next to my "tiny" Gretsch 22" bass drum...

Love these big kits! Here are the ones I have had:
These are Crash's Ayottes 12,14,16 and normally a 24x18 but this is setup with my 26" Ludwig Classic Maple bass drum View attachment 125821
Have I played on that Ayotte kit before?
They look familiar, but at my advanced age, the memory is a little....uh....what was I talking about again? ;)

Well you don't see a big set of Gretsch drums that often (26, 18, 16, 14) and even rarer with the White Oyster Pearl Finish. BTW, I believe back in the seventies, Gretsch would get their bass drum shells from Rogers if they were 26" or bigger. This is set is from 1974. The 16" floor tom is from 1999.

My 1987 Gretsch Carribean Blue kit (24x16, 18x18, 16x16 and 12x10). Not shown is the 14x14. I bought this set off of one of Iggy Pop's touring drummers in the 1990's. This set sound absoulutely amazing and has some serious mojo!

My trusted workhorse Ludwigs (24", 18", 18", 14"). Not shown is 15" tom. My Dad bought me this set for my 16 birthday in 1978. They are all 3 ply shells except one 18" floor tom that I recent bought which is a 6 ply. My Dad did not have alot of cash back then but he knew how much I loved the drums and saved up to buy this set for me. He is still around (93) and I have told him a number of times that this was the best present that he ever bought me. We are very close. What's cool about this set is that I had the music store (Waterloo Music) order this kit for me with the concert tom holder instead of the standard one that you always see with double hooped mounted toms. The salesman tried to talk me out of it, but I just could not stand the standard one. I still play this set on a regular basis and they still look and sound great!

Yes, Elvis, you did play that Ayotte kit at the NW gathering out by Olympia. I had just got them at that time. It has probably been 4 years ago, maybe more.

Yeah, I thought so.
Funny, I don't remember wood hoops.
That is a great sounding kit, but one of these days, I really want to take a spin on those yellow Slinger-Leedy's.
Stay safe.

Love that wrap. Is that original? (excuse my ignorance)

Here is a pic of my chrome over 3ply Ludwigs.
12,13,16,24. Way louder than I had thought they would be.
