Hi there,

I wrote some drum charts (mostly Big Band style) using MuseScore open source software. You can access them online and play them with the linked tune which makes it kind of nice to practice chart reading and play along with it. You can even slow it down so up-tempo charts are easier to practice.

The site with all my scores: https://musescore.com/fst-drummer-mainz

Some of my favourites:
Vinnie playing on Buddy Rich Memorial Concert in LA 1989:
Ya Gotta Try: https://musescore.com/user/33508997/scores/6013264
Big Swing Face: https://musescore.com/user/33508997/scores/6027895

Tower of Power:
Diggin' on James Brown: https://musescore.com/user/33508997/scores/6010547

I hope this is useful for some of you out there. Let me know what you think.

There’s an app from Fuzzy Music ( Peter Erskine) that has a whole bunch of great Bob Mintzer big band tunes to play. I forget exactly what it’s called but it’s an excellent resource. Has the charts to download and a mixer to take out drums etc.
Gordon Goodwin Big Phat band also has several excellent play along books.

Thanks for these.

if this thread is also meant as a list of available apps etc., check out WDR Big Band, they just released an app similar to the Erskine one, and it's free!
