In all seriousness ... that honestly took my breath away. There was a depth that just wasn't expected. That was phenomenal.

I shared that video on Facebook, and got this response from a woman married to my bass player from high school. They live in Seattle.

"So cool you posted this! Roosevelt High is our neighborhood school and the kids are alumni. RHS jazz band never disappoints them at Essentially Ellington.
and... that handsome solo trumpet , he’s my across-the-street neighbor!"

Small world.

Both Roosevelt and Garfield high schools are in my vicinity and have great jazz programs. Both do very well in competitions.
