All I know is my bass player just watched my video and loves it and can't wait to play with me.

He is also a great drummer.

I still dig it.

I wish you were out in my neck of the woods, because I have a 23" (yes, 23) old 602, medium-light that you would really love.

So just sell it to me or trade.

The 2002's can get almost darkish, vs. the 602s. But I miss some complexity with the 2002s - I have a feeling there's a 602 out there that could work in place of that 22"2002. If I remember correctly - I think this is a 22" 602 Thin:

This is coming in mail tomorrow (not this exact one)

I think it will be great as left side...no rivets with the 2002 with 8 rivets.

Hey Tom, did you end up drilling the 2002? I'll bet it will sound great with 8 rivets.
Here's my 22" 602 (Stamped "Thin" in red ink) for reference. It weighs 2500 grams.
Sounds lower than the Hilly Biggins Ride
which may be informative as to what model
the Billy Higgins/Ed Blackwell/ ride actually twas.

Good to hear more 602s, I still don't have an idea about all the sounds the older ones have to offer.

I bet the 2002 will work fine as a ride, the wash stays in check to my ear.

To make things even more complicated, my most Billy/602 sounding ride, to my ear, is a Bosphorus!

Something in the ballpark of this.

Anyone want to guess stamp and weight of this old K.

It is nice and trashy and dry. It doesn't sound too light.

I keep watching this.
That main ride is so much drier and darker than my 2002.
I think Im looking for THAT sound plus the 602 thin that just posted. Same

Someone mentioned BH used Bolero sticks in that video? Those make any cymbals sound different - lighter/trashier to my ear. Some also say "darker", maybe, but not lower - the high wood pitch (due to the thickness) adds a high element.
