15" Ufip Ritmo hats, 18" Ufip Natural Series crash, 24" A Trans Stamp ride, 18" A Hollow Block Stamp crash, 20" Zanki pang:

I bet that 18" UFiP Natural crash sounds great! It's a nice blend you have going on!

It really does. It's not for everything, as it is very dry, and dark. But when I need a crash sound that speaks quickly, and then gets out of the way, while still having some body, it's just the ticket.
It's pretty much the opposite of the 20" vintage A I usually have in that position. But it's perfect for a punk tune my band has been working on lately :)

Whaaaat? I'm back to back 4 days apart with no other post? This is one of my favorite threads so I will keep it up top till others get new pics in!

Playing my last church gig for a while (maybe the balance of the year) as my dance card is full again! But today was a lot of fun as I had the chance to play my whole Istanbul Nostalgia Legend Dry series for the first time outside of the practice room. I'm the first to admit that it was not the right set for the job at hand but it was still a lot of fun. I had to watch my volume a bit more than normal but enjoyed the "trash" quality they brought. I can't say these are going to stay with me long term, but man, what a finely crafted set of cymbals!!

This is all that Mehmet released in the set and is a pair of 15" hats, 18" crash, 20" Crash / ride and a DEEPLY hammered 22" ride! And while I am undecided on their future, I have to send a HUGE shout out to our own Murat for helping me put this set together... what a guy, he's wonderful to work with in every way!

Current practice kit setup: Sabian 14" SR2 Thin/Medium hats, Istanbul Mehmet 21" Legend Dark ride, Sabian 22" Prototype (HH?) ride, Sabian 21" Vault Ambient Ride w/ 2 rivets. Joe the cat supervising and quietly judging me for all the things that are currently on the floor that should not be.

Went on a bit of a buying frenzy the past few months as for the first time in my life I have both a good paying career and a house of my own, and room to keep multiple drums sets up means each set needs its own cymbals. I think I’m all set now unless something truly special pops up, although I am thinking of sending my 9lb 24” a “medium” to Nicky Moon to lose some weight. Been working on building a “rock” cymbal setup to go with my big dumb drum set and I’ve got it dialed in now.
14” A custom over Z custom hi hats
16” 90’s? sabian AA medium Crash
17” 00’s? sabian AA fast crash
18” 70’s? A zildjian that is a true mystery, its pretty light (1264g) but very high pitched and explosive with a fast decay and appears to be factory brilliant finish but has a regular a stamp. A very satisfying pawn shop find
13” 80’s A thin crash over a 20” 90’s Sabian AA medium ride
20” 70’s A Zildjian&Cie probably a lighter medium ride
21” 80’s A Rock ride
And an 18” 00’s Wuhan china

my ceiling isn’t tall enough for a single shot

2003 24” medium ride

Hey rich, what are your thoughts on the new Wuhan Koi Dark China? They look pretty interesting from everything I've run across so far, but your the first I personally know to have one.

I bought two when they first came out; the regular finish and the dark one. Put up the dark one and thought it was the nicest China I've ever had and it hasn't left the stand since day one. Sold the regular finish one before ever really playing it.

Thanks for the note, I'm more interested than ever to play one in person now!
