I've got a 26x6 pipe band skinny bass drum that I would like to use in an orff classroom of responsible 2nd graders. Problem is how to hold it.
I want to have it at around a 45 degree angle (some easy adjustability would be nice, but fixed is ok) with the bottom of the drum being around a foot off the floor.
I've mulled over a few ideas, but haven't come up with an elegant solution. But I'm really a sax player sooooo....thoughts?
I am currently thinking of the Gibraltar laptop stand. Disassemble the T-Bar, center drill a longer piece of rack tubing and reassemble using that as the horizontal. That would extend the distance that the 2 18" arms can go out and it should not change the original designs weight abilities. I would end up with a rectangle shaped cradle, 17" by X (what ever I set it to) to set the bass in/on
