I received some W/A toms that are a faded WMP with sparse gold sparkles.
I acquired a 20" Premier Olympic that has badly ripped wrap (and little glue residue).

Based on the fun and success i had Polying a marching snare I thought maybe I'd do that to this drum...but thought if i mixed in some sparkles to the poly (maybe the 1st 3 coats of 6) I might achieve a complimentary look. Thoughts?

That's a cool idea. I suspect that using a spray gun or maybe a roller will be the only ways to get perfect dispersion of the sparkles?

And I'm wondering how it would look if you applied, say, one layer of sparkles followed by three layers of clear, then another app of sparkles, then more clear. More depth?

I'm going to keep this in mind.

And I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your results.

I think the other way to go is to apply the poly while still wet...deposit sprinles manual onto it...and then apply another coat over it and not add any...it may be a while before I get to this...don't wait for me!
