It's CANOPUS day! We've got a beautiful Yaiba II bop kit in a dark red sparkle lacquer.

This kit is fitted throughout with Remo Coated Ambassadors on the batters and resos, except for the snare, which has an Evans UV1.

This configuration is:
18 x 14 Bass Drum
12 x 8 Rack Tom
14 x 14 Floor Tom
14 x 5.5 Snare Drum

Cymbals: 22" Zildjian Constantinople Medium Thin Low Ride, 20" Zildjian Kerope Ride, 19" Zildjian Constantinople Crash Ride, 14" Zildjian Avedis Hi Hats

Mics: We used two AKG C214 microphones as overheads, a Shure SM57 on the snare, a Shure SM57 on the hi-hats, and an AKG d112 on the bass drum.

Enjoy!

Great sounds and drumming as always :) Would be curious to see what you guys would do with some gretsch USA Customs. Do you have any of those lying around?

@Mostly Bop Drums, thanks for putting these videos together. The Canopus Yaibas sound wonderful and the cymbals you picked to go along are spot on. Love the playing here too -- shows off the drums from both a simple/functional perspective and then also in a number of nice musical contexts. Nicely done all around.

I almost went with a Canopus bop kit, they really are nice, but I opted for a Pork Pie instead. Love the PP finishes. Do you think you'll ever do a PP bop feature?

Maybe it's the room, but they have that Gretsch round badge/usa custom focused sound, very light resonance, probably great for small combo stuff. How would you compare it to a new usa custom in the same sizes?
