Clear Evans EQ3 24" - None to be found

Is Evans discontinuing the EQ3? I can find them in 22, but for the life of me, I can't seem to find one in 24" that in CLEAR form. Evans doesn't even have any in stock on their site. All the usual suspects, bad person, Sweetwater, etc. have none either. I must've missed something...I've been running these for many years and would hate to see them go away. Maybe it's just a supply chain issue, but I need one pretty quick and I'm having zero luck finding one. Has anybody heard anything about this?

Yep, that's it. But my pressing concern is the listing says, "N.O.S. Packaging is older and a bit worn but the head is brand new otherwise. Logo may be the older style on some of the heads."

I just worry these are being discontinued. Also, I messed around and waited until shipping is going to be an issue to get here on time. I'll grab something else locally, but I am still wondering if this particular head is going away. I also noticed that those who have them listed all have only 1 or 2 in stock, or none at all. It's concerning, but I guess I'll have to find something new to run on my 24.

Well, crap! I hope that they aren’t discontinued, too. I have them on all three of my 24’s. I haven’t found anything that I like better. EQ4’s and Aquarian Performance II’s are nice, but the EQ4 isn’t punchy enough for me and the Aquarian is too punchy. My Gretsch Renown came with a Powerstroke, which I’m not a fan of. They always sound flat and one dimensional to me. I changed it out to the EQ3 and the drum really opened up while still retaining a decent amount of low end. I fervently hope that it’s a temporary supply chain issue.
Check Drum Factory Direct, they had it when no one else did. Also, Drum Center of Portsmouth usually carries them as well.

Evans guy here, but my 24” RC came with a coated PS3 and its a good head.

A retailer recently told me the G12's and G14's were being discontinued (maybe even the Frosted EC2s also), but said nothing about the EQ3 even though we specfically discussed the EQ bass drum heads.

The Frosted EQ3 is my 'goldilock's' bass drum head so Id be pretty disappointed if it were the case.

the EQ3 is still on the Evans site, it just says "we are temporarily out of stock..." My guess is they are having supply chain issues. Its probably their most popular bass drum head, I doubt they'd discontinue it.

I got one of these myself. Ordered a coated and received frosted. Trying to find the right heads for my first 24 in many years. Didn’t do much for me honestly.
