Any tips of removing the bar code stickers off the back of Zildjian cymbals other than goo gone and cymbal polish?

Thanks.

I can't believe someone is asking this question.
Until it softens and you can peel it back off

i would use room temperature water and Dawn dishwashing soap (I use the blue one) and, with this mixture, soak a rag and let it sit on the barcode; it becomes soggy and I use a hard plastic scraper to take it off once soggy and loose..

Yeah that JDA, trying to tempt the guy into ruining the temper of his cymbals by heating them up.

I recently emailed Paiste about the same issue. I’ve had one of those stickers underneath my 16” crash for a few years. Here’s what they said to do (and I mentioned Goo Gone to them)

“Thanks for the email. I'd start by recommending you clean that with warm water and some Dawn dish soap and see if that removes the residue and sticky stuff. It is a more mild cleaner than the Goo Gone. I am certain Goo Gone would get rid of it, I'm just not sure if that would compromise the coating that we apply to the cymbal.

Give the Dawn a try and let me know how that works. After cleaning it, give the cymbal a good rinse and dry it off.”

WD-40 is a corrosive, I strongly recommend not using it.

Plastic scraper for the heavy stuff, mayonnaise for the sticky stuff.

Trust me, it works.

Heat gun, couple of quick pass's, finger nail peal that puppy off. Got sticky residue, blue rag with a couple of drops of Ronson lighter fluid (naptha).
Ya'll are too much.
Next thread will be "does it change the sound when you remove the sticker".

Soak the sticker in Ronson. Ignite the sticker with the heat gun! I think JDA should try this on some of his symbols and see if it works. All others do not try this at home!

Edit to add: then the next thread would be why are my cymbals dead?
