Crowd sourcing my decision... Should I go with die-cast hoops or 2.3 triple flange on my new snare build?

The drum is a 14" 8ply maple shell. Thanks!

Die cast. To me, the snare feels more "solid" and simply invites rim shots, which have a slightly lower pitch to them. Besides, they look so darn cool.

Have you had a chance to try Angel stainless hoops? IMO they combine the solid rim shots of DC with the resonance of flanged, while looking cooler than both.

You don't have a set of both to try out? It's hard to say otherwise......I have no issues with die casts on Gretsch and many other snares......some sound better and more open with triple flange, though. Since this shell looks more Gretsch (no reinf. hoop), versus Slingy/Ludwig/DW, I'd probably lean towards DC's.....but you should have a set laying around anyway......
