Paul Franklin is one of the two or three best steel guitar players to ever play. And this version of the band is KILLING it. Imagine going to a show in 1922 and seeing this level of musicianship. This entire album is outstanding (On The Night)

Whitten is slamming on his Nobel & Cooleys

"Yea, the boy can play!"

Great clip, the band is killin it! Love the crowd shots with the arms a swingin'... that has got to be a rush to experience that from the band's side of things!

Fantastic Straits!

Never seen that one.

Clearly it is the drummer’s command of the idiom that is driving the audience to synchronous groove and arm waving.

Pedal Steel is so wonderful.
Are you guys hip to Robert Randolph ?

Saw The Robert Randolph Family Band at a festival show in Dallas quite a few years back. They shared the stage with Jars of Clay and Switchfoot and a few others. They blew the top off the joint. PHENOMENAL drummer!!! That guy just smoked the place.

... and here they are doing their best Marshall Tucker impersonation.
Ridiculously versatile band.

Randolph is amazing. Longtime fan.

But I was looking forward to a thread about Dire Straits live as I missed out on that era.

hahahaha ... yeah. Sorry 'bout that.
Not a huge Dire Straits fan and someone here mentioned Robert and it tripped a switch in me and one or two more members. Love that band.
I'll start a different thread.
Appologies bud.

and give Chris W his due

my apologies for misreading your post, sometimes, maybe often times, I can’t tell; that’s my shortcomings
