Do gigs include teaching such as private lessons and classes, and/or clinics?

You’re getting paid to play drums, so I would say yes.

Playing with a band is a gig.

edit: In jazz where it originated, a gig meant a job. So yes, there are also teaching gigs.

A gig kinda infers/ the expectation of an audience..
musicians could call taking out the garbage on Wednesday for Thursday a short gig
teaching a "day gig"..

To me, anything that you get paid to do is a gig. But that’s just me.

Gig is slang for a live musical performance. Originally coined in the 1920s by jazz musicians, the term, short for the word “engagement”, now refers to any aspect of performing, such as assisting with and attending musical performance. ... Night is Alive books gigs for some of the highest-ranking jazz artists today.

Out here a gig is anything that earns money. Slinging dope to a medical profession.

I'd say a "gig" is a live paid performance. Teaching /education is just that. I used to have a paid position giving drum lessons at the local music store. I enjoyed it! I never thought of it as a gig though. That's just me. Enjoy what you do!
