Don’t like 15 hi hats.

I just traded a paiste sig full crash for some 2002 SE 15's. they should be here by the 19th. I sure hope I like them. Never used 15s before and I am really looking forward to trying them out. Should work great for an out door gig coming up in a month.

15in se 2002's are some of the best out there, you won't be disappointed!

I’ve got close to 20 pairs of hats ranging from 12” to 16”. 12 of those are 15”. Besides playing at home I can’t remember the last time I played out with anything other than a pair of 15” or even the one pair of 16’s (perfect for regular worship gig I had for a few years). However, I’m eying a pair of Paiste Signature 14” dark crisp hats because they sit closer in pitch to 15’s I’m used to but respond a bit quicker due to their size. If they made the dark crisps in 15” I’m sure I’d own a pair already!

I have a pair of Sabian HHX Complex 15" hats and I absolutely love them. Also have a pair of 15" Avedis A hi-hats that I absolutely love. To me, they give me all the body and volume I want out of a larger hi-hat, but the same cut in the mix that you would want out of a smaller (14 or maybe 13) pair of hi-hats. Of course, this is dependent upon the brand/series of hats you are using.

In general I like all sizes 14's and 15's mainly. 14's like a VW bug, there cheap, everywhere and good on gas!

My favorites hi hats are paiste sound formula , I bought a pair of 13's new in the 90's and played them alot . Last year I got a 14" pair , love those too.
I also have a 13" zildjian k dark custom pair that I like alot also.

After years of playing I’ve been trying out different hi hats. Seems that I keep going back to 14’s
They seem crisper, faster and easier to control. And they feel better to me.
Am I the only one ????
What are your favs ?

I have two pairs , both favorites . Both Hollow Logo Zildjian A’s . 14” Quick Beats and 15” New Beats . Had them both since they were brandy new and love them both .

I’m 14’s for sure. Just don’t care for any aspect of the 15’s over the 14’s.

I have a set of 14 inch sabian X-celerators and a set of 15 inch legacy hats. Love them both. The 15’s are thinner and play real nice.

I played Paiste 2002 Heavy Rock original black label 15's for the longest time. I like being able to switch with some 14's. It's not that big a difference to me.
