What’s the difference between the 2 rosewoods?
Honestly do you need 2 of the same if your trying to recoup cash?
Tama will probably bring in more money as people know the name better
From what I can tell, Bill did a pretty smooth rounded edge. It's by far the smoothest edge I've seen on a snare. There's a reason so many have him recut their edges.
Sweet! Are they finished like the rest of the shell?
Yep! All solid rosewood rings
Awesome! If you end up taking it apart to change heads not something, snap a few pics, eh? I'd love to see the interior!
Not sure what edge he used on your particular drum, but Bill has always done inner 45 with a round over on the outside to match the collar of Remo heads. From what I can tell, Bill did a pretty smooth rounded edge. Just saw the original snare that started this build is on eBay. I was bidding on it but I think I've unfortunately hit my limit.
Just wanted to say I used this snare at my latest gig and it was absolutely incredible. So glad to own it!
I see that it ended up selling for $1650. Were you the winning bidder?
My Cask referenced is a phenomenal drum. Here’s my Cask 6.5”x 14” rosewood that Micah built out for me. It’s a special piece.
It’s a tossup between it and my maple N&C SS. Depends on the sound needed. It’s really nice to have both since they’re very different.
