As far as online shopping I have to give a big shout out to (believe it or not) Music-go-round of Columbus, OH. The company typically doesn't ship full kits, but John, the e-commerce specialist there, went above and beyond and personally took my purchase to the local UPS store where I coordinated shipping to Denver. John said he wouldn't have done it for a cheap set, but knew that an almost brand new Brooklyn, and a 4160 snare, plus bags for all was a high-end purchase showed real customer service. Now, the fact that I stole it all for $1360 is another story. :) So, I guess it isn't the company or the reputation in the industry, but the people that drive success.

I'm happy they finally took care of you and glad you aired your laundry out here too! Too bad it took this thread for them to see your side, just goes to show that the customer is KING. One question...are you still gonna buy the kit too?
Where did he say they took care of him? Last I saw he was still waiting on a resolution. DCP did post that they emailed him but no idea what has happened since.

I've seen that set in the store. It is a very nice find. I was jealous and sad it wasn't in a configration that I wanted.

If you're saying that nobody's perfect, stuff happens, etc., I'd have to agree.
That's not what happened here. The buyer was not happy with the deal and his concerns and questions were not dealt with satisfactorily. Big difference.

He ended up with a DREAM drum keeper that he bought for a big discount.

No, I will not be purchasing a whole kit.

So you're saying that if the discount is big enough, it doesn't matter if you're lied to, and ignored when you complain about it?
I'm saying as a whole the experience was a positive. One of the best drums available, purchased at a discount. Yes, the closeout price matters, as does the fact that the drum is fantastic.

A related note, I think one of the issues here is the op was never willing to return the drum. The drum was THAT good, and the price was THAT low.

Was the transaction perfect? No, but many things in life are not perfect (arguably nothing is perfect).

Most transactions do not end with a dream drum keeper purchased at a discount. Take a look at the for sale section and you will see many non-keepers.

"Lied" implies a malicious intent. I'm not convinced this was more than a misunderstanding.

I am graciously leaving this
conversation. Best of luck finding satisfying transactions to all.

You keep falling into the " great drum at a great price" which for you may be a vaild reaction. But for a lot of us, myself included, that actually has absolutely nothing to with the issues the buyer experienced. I'm not sure why you can't see that, or if you can, why you refuse to acknowledge it..

You clearly have very low expectations of people.

To clarify, returns were never allowed on these purchases.

Sometimes the return shipping is too excessive to return an item, especially a drum. Another opportunity to damage the item as well. In many cases when factoring in a possible return on an item/listing that was not as described or parts were missing........it's just not worth it to send back at your own expense. Buyer might figure they can sell it themselves down the road and end up with a little more money. We don't know if the OP was "never willing to return the drum." There may have been other considerations on their part other than "dream drum" at a "dream discount." And one person's "dream drum" at a "dream discount" is the next guy's headache.

I've numerous experiences on Ebay where I was unhappy with an item but ruled out a return because that's a lose-lose for everyone....except the shipping company. And in this situation DCP was unyielding about even sending out a mount. Why would the OP even consider trying to send back the drum in that situation? I wouldn't either....even if I didn't like it. Not that DCP would do this, but I've returned items in the past where the seller kept my money and the item. So I learned that in some cases, possession of an item is not the worst than can happen to you.
