Got this amazing sounding snare a bit ago. I’ve heard of black lacquer, but was there a blue lacquer? Straight blue duco?

Nickle hardware, the earlier pioneer throw off, small round muffler, pre-serial badge. Some remnants of a red stamp but impossible to read. I have no reason to believe it’s been repainted.

Thanks everyone,

-Andrew

Yes, there were a few solids, I've seen white, brown mist, black, blue and I would imagine a couple others

I had a blue WFL, I'll look for pics when I get to my pc, It was very cool, nickel like yours and the lacquer was all checked and spider webbed, fully intact, superb vintage appearance.

I have a solid blue one very similar to yours. I don't have a picture of it. Yours looks good. Cool drum.

Ludwig had several solid colors. They would also do special order colors as well. I had a solid blue Auditorium that was a different shade than yours. Also had a solid green Pioneer. Green and then blue have been discussed as the most uncommon solid colors, blue the most.
