Gretsch RB in burgandy sparkle with 14 floor tom! 20, 14, 12 for 1000

Nice catch! I'm a Luddie guy but isn't the 14" floor tom somewhat scarce?

On the Goodwill online auction, a mixed set but appears to be a decent 70's? Ludwig Classic Maple? bass drum for someone assembling a set of those...

When Goodwill says "Shows Heavy Signs Of Wear" , look out!
I am surprised they will ship these, usually for large items and kits they are pick-up only.

Albuquerque, NM........absurdly good deal. Price has been dropping for months from around $1250 iirc. Apparently a very motivated seller.

3 Radio King 40's drums + 12 pieces of hardware - $550. A pair of 14x28 bass drums and a 13 tom. The extra stands and pedals, mufflers, extra calf skin heads are probably worth $400+.
Next time I saw this ad the price was up to $750. But, it definitely appeared at the $550 level for a bit.

Not necessarily super cheap, but a very cool set in nice shape. You don't often see '60s sets in black nitron.

Looks like you have to be a member to see anything. I just get the cover page.

That's the same 1 owner kit out of Vermont I was going after about a month ago. It showed up on Reverb for $2600 first. I made the seller a higher offer than they eventually got.
I gave them every bit of info on the kit including value of cymbals and gear. The snare was a Super Ludwig early 60's with Gretsch 42 wire set....which is what got me interested from the start. I was pretty sure despite only a photo of the lugs and badge that it was the COB. That was worth $700+ alone. And I informed the seller of that. Cymbals and gear $500+. Per the seller the full kit sold for $1800 and now being flipped by a well known NH reseller.

You'd think if the dealer was making a $1000+ on this kit they could at least go out and find a proper Floor Tom Leg ($45), remove the duct tape off the batter heads, and give the dirty heads a cleaning and/or replacement.
You have to chuckle about "up for sale is MY awesome kit." They owned it for less than a month. Previous owner had it for almost 55 yrs. In my mind you don't get to use "my kit" until you've unless put in the 15-50 hrs needed to properly clean up a vintage kit and replace relatively simple to find incorrect parts.

No pics yet, but if this in good condition, this is a great price for a vintage Slingerland 5-piece kit.

SOLD

Albany, NY area.

$125. It will go fast due to motivated seller.

Blue Satin flame MIJ STAR kit. Probably 1969-1973. I'd say Micro-Sonic or Majestic models...though maybe minus badges.
One drum does look like a Ludwig standard....at least some of the lugs appear to be. A pair of Ludwig tom mounts on 2 of the toms.
Hardware includes Ludwig steer horn double tom stand, a Speed King pedal, Ludwig throne - just the hardware is probably worth $100+.

On the plus side is that the larger cymbal to the left has the look of 1950's Zildjian....mid 50's or earlier? That would be a plus to get a coupe 50's Zildjians with this kit.
I'd buy it but that's a 4 hr round trip for me. And probably a lot "free" tlc to bring those drums back.

SOLD the same day I posted................

Probably gone in the first minutes they were posted, but blue sparkle 60s ludwig 3 piece with 14 ft. For 125 dollars. I guess those crazy finds are still out there. Included some stands and cymbals as well.

I hope for the buyer it’s COB. The presentation in the ad seemed suspicious. Even surprised the interior shots where added. Among some of the other general tells missing there may be flaking.
