Wild looking Domino Ghost Rider 60's/70's 4 pc. drum set for $200. Certainly not much to pay if they have vintage value. I'm dizzy just looking at them. Those could have fit Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In theme.

update - probably sold as the ad was pulled from CL. Took 2 days...was surprised they even lasted 24 hrs.

1939 Ludwig & Ludwig standard snare drum on Ebay. At first glance looked "interesting" since I own a 1946. But on this '39 the original wrap probably removed and then painted white. And it's missing 5 pieces of hardware...both snare wire extenders, the contact plate for the rotating throw off, and both die cast hoops. At least one of the tension rods not original. Pretty active bidding considering how much is missing. Is 1939 that much better of a year than the later 1940's? Currently at $262 shipped. Not sure it's worth that in parts. The missing parts might not be cheap to purchase. I recall someone posting an original kit last year with one of these in it. That snare was fully complete though a bit rusty...and probably worth in the $200-$300 range.

Not missing items. White lacquer was a popular finish back then, so it's very possible it's original. The strike plate and snare gates were introduced later. This one has all the right parts.
On second look, those hoops don't look correct.

Thanks for correcting me Platinum. We don't learn if we don't ask ...or look foolish in the process. The finish shows some touching up around the badge. So not sure if that isn't painted over or just original finish touched up.

The drum sold for $431 shipped.

It must be "1939 standard" week as here's another one popping up on Ebay. This is WAP wrap with a start price of $450....BIN is $650. And like the other one, the original hoops are gone.

Reuther drum kit in the Glen Falls, NY area. I think these are stencil drums made by Pearl. They look like 1970's Pearls with the acoustic coating. Though i can't explain why the floor tom interior is natural wood finish. To sweeten this the seller appears to have a group of nice looking A Zildjians.

Never heard of Reuther before today. Had to look them up. The drums actually look decently made. At first glance I thought they were CB/Juggs type quality.

Definitely one of the more interesting postings Ive seen. Wonder who the friend was who quoted $12k?
Even if the cymbals are real Turkish K's, it wouldn't be worth anywhere near $12,000. When I looked at the listing is was starting at $6250.

I wouldn't think the drums were worth more than $2000 on a great day. And I doubt the cymbals will fetch $4250...

Just my opinion.

Call me crazy, but the cymbals look like A Zildjians to me. I cant tell if this is one of those people disconnected from pricing reality, or if this is one of those honey, there just arent any buyers out there sorta situations.

This is just too much. This one takes the cake. This is even better than the guy trying to sell a Taiwanese Rogers for $2,000.

I've gotta try to find out more about this seller.

Anyone in Park Forest, IL? Here's a vintage Royce drum kit, 10 leg bass drum....not the norm for low end off-shore stuff. And peaking out from behind appears to be a super-sensitive Ludwig Supraphonic with crown badge and baseball bat muffler. I'd show up and try to buy it if local.

Cool 1983 cherry wine Tama Superstar kit - 6 drums and hardware for $550 asking price. Not a lot of money for a standard sized kit in what appears to be decent condition. After removing the Mastercraft 10 lug snare and hardware, you're paying approx $55/drum. If I didn't already own an identical set....I'd be looking at this one. Upstate NY shows up with some super deals on drum kits.
