On another forum some years back I recall a thread about bad spellings in drum ads … snair, symbal, base drum, tome etc. and wonder what your worst example might be ? :)

I once bought a "Pearl symbol" from a newspaper ad. It was actually a Paiste cymbal, with the script logo. In the seller's defense, he did spell Pearl correctly, even though it wasn't a Pearl cymbal, and that script logo is a bit hard to read, which may have been a marketing error on Paiste's part. Does that say....Paint? Point? Pail?

When a misspelling makes it into ad copy, I just laugh, because nothing shouts "budget reduction" more than a company who chooses not to pay for a proofreader before a magazine or book hits the presses.
I have a few revered drum books about famous historic manufacturers, and I remember catching a few misspellings of rival drum manufacturers.
When I'm looking at a listing on eBay, Reverb, or Craigslist, and the "author" has misspelled a number of things, it immediately makes me not want to buy from them.
That said, I know have posts on forums with mis-spelled words...hopefully, though, not proper nouns.
