I'm torn between the Gretsch and the Ludwig kits.

Wow, we have made it to reply #7 and not one "I would not pick any of those, I would pick insert favorite brand here" responses that DFO is so famous for! LOL!

For me it's a tough one because my head is saying go for the RB Gretcsh (I mean Bop was practically invented on those things) but my heart is screaming at me to choose the Sonor Phonic's in rosewood! I think I'm gonna take the Sonor's but only by a narrow margin, I always loved those drums... all 1,600 pounds of them!

I'd pick the Gretsch only because I'd eventually sell it and want the most $$ for my lottery ticket. Doesn't mean it would be the most enjoyable to play. With the Gretsch I can trade in for 2 of the others.

If Ludwig is on that list....then Slingerland should be too. Just sayin'.

If I don't need to carry it myself, Phonics. They brought out things I didn't know I could play. Gretsch RB is a classic, but maybe a bit too traditional for me at times.

Gretsch they're worth more, and they'll give me a more accurate realization that I'm not a born natural Bop drummer.

You can't go wrong with any of those. I love my Gretsch bop kit, but Phonic rosewoods are my favourite aesthetically, and I've been digging the 3 ply Ludwig sound lately.
